Stephen J. Maas is a native American English speaker with over twenty years of experience with the German language.
His language skills were developed through studies in secondary and higher education, as well as through the practical experience of residing in northwestern Germany for an extended period. He has traveled extensively through Germany, Austria and Switzerland on numerous different occasions and has since continued his education through conferences and practical training. Formerly an in-house translator for the US subsidiary of a major German printing technology company, he has worked exclusively as a freelance translator since 2001.
